Of druids, epic dings and excessive lag

I do not like playing on my laptop.
Case and point:
Note the bottom right hand corner.....
Latency: 2345
Framerate: 11fps
And that's on Artebank who's UI is VERY VERY bland! :O

HAHAHA.
I still managed to ding tho....
Ding --> Grats Mirubea :) Wee.

Speaking of dings....

YES.
YES.
YES.
YEEEESSSSSSSS.
Artemes is 80! ARTEMES IS LEVEL FREAKING 80!! :D
WEEEE. I can run around in Dalaran and be silly and not do anything important for WEEKS and people won't whisper me and ask me what the hell is taking so long and why I'm not 80 yet. (Got at least 10 whispers from diff people telling me to level over the course of being level 78-79)

I CAN DO HEROICS (almost)!
I CAN BE SRS AND PHAT AND....um.
EPIC. ^^ I can get epic lootz!

But yeah. First thing I did....
Oh geeze it was fun. It was so much fun, I think I should be DOCKED honor for participating. idk what people bitch about, Wintergrasp is sooo much fun. :D Running around killing allies who are throwing bombs and such at you? Seems fun to me.
I've only played Defense, which was basically a zerg rush followed by a minor withdraw (due to deaths) then a smaller zerg with more support classes.
Yeah. So basically we pwned. I'm going to try at offense sometime eventually. Also; so you know. Alliance are outnumbered 1:5 on our server. :P Aah well. Low population server...ROLL AN ALT ^^

Oh; finally. As I promised, Screenie of my netherdrake.

P.S. Back to the Dr00d :P
I got her some awesome healy gear and some pretty nice feral stuff. Despite this...I'm considering switching her to resto/balance at 40 because...well. BOOMKIIINNNNNNN.
Thank you, that is all. XD

Netherdrakes, Oracles and Heroics

Before I begin, you should probably know; What I'm getting done WoW Wise is getting done on a very...extremely...obscenely limited schedule. Meaning, if I'm lucky, about two hours a week. I may be able to work out something a bit more...er...flexible in time. Just need to wait till my Mom is in a better mood to negotiate with.
So, here's what I've gotten done so far in WoW over the past three weeks or so...
  • I got my Netherwing Drake. No, I don't have screenshots. I should probably get some...oh well. I got the green one because, well, it's unique, the others all pretty much look blue (I'll likely get a few more or all of them eventually).

  • I got revered with the Oracles (FINALLY) - Also got my first Mysterious Egg which will hatch next Saturday --> Also got my Toothslice Helm which upped my DPS quite nicely. :D

  • Got my Kirin Tor and Wyrmrest Accord Tabards. I'm also working on getting to friendly with The Knights of the Ebon Blade for my tabard with them. ^^

What I'm planning on working on:
  • Doing more PvP for Bonus Honor at 79 (easier than 80) and also marks for (MAYBE) PvP gear
  • Wintergrasp (Never done it..I'd like to...really soon :P)
  • Getting Rep with Ebon Blade and Wyrmrest Accord for Fang of Truth/Reaper of Dark Souls, Spaulders of the Black Arrow, and Arcanum of Torment
  • Rep with Sons of Hodir for Shoulder 'chants
  • Leveling to 80, Eventually...Likely through rep quests or Icecrown /wrists I hate that place. :(

Oh. I installed Multishot so I'll have screenshots for whenever I ding/get an achievement/get a boss kill. :) Yay!
You can see my glaringly ugly clicker UI (meh...) and me (eventually) dinging 80. :D

Corpse Piles

They're not only for mages. :P

Also;
The Storm Peaks Disguise...my poor mounts. :(

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

On Haitus.

I won't be playing WoW for a while....I can't be sure how long that 'while' will be.
Let's just say it's because of parenting fail. Alright? Good.

Not that anyone reads this anyway. x.x'
Bai then,
I'll write again...eventually.
Artemes will be sitting happily at 79 until then.

For the Horde!

I did it!
I really did!
On a whim I decided to join a [For the Horde] Achievement raid. We went to Ironforge first and failed epicly. Most of the group left, I was passed lead so I took over.
I kicked those that were under level 75 and recruited only 75+. With a majority of 80s we slaughtered Exodonar and Darnassas - THEN we ran into Stormwind, no wipes, we killed the king easily. Nobody died for any of those! NOBODY DIED. :o

Then...the Alliance caught on....a bunch of them met us in Ironforge, we wiped four times and decided to regroup.
Headed to Orgrimmar and recruited more healers to compensate for those who left as soon as we wiped in Ironforge.
We got a full group and stormed Ironforge.
The king died, we danced on his corpse and got our warbears.
It was amazing, we were coordinated and buffed and geeze.
It was epic. Just...epic.
Now...screenshots! Please note, these aren't the best screenies in the world, they weren't snapped in the middle of battle. They were snapped after the fight and in the tram where we rebuffed.
The remenants of our raid also ran through goldsire and slaughtered it. :P
So much fun. ^^
No I didn't do my oracle or netherwing dailies...
/sigh

SCREENIE TIME! ^^

A botched screenie mid-fight :P Ah well, you get the point.

Rebuffing after some silliness on the tram. We all acted like children. Saying things like "Artemes! Sapz is touching me!" "Are we there yet?" "He's toouuchhiinngg meeee!!!" etc. It was funny as hell. Then it went dirty. :P 'touching me' went into "Oh you know you like it ;)"
Funnnyyy. Fun too. Lots of people said I was a great leader. My ego just grew three sizes. :D

In front of Exodar, resummoning people who fell behind. I <3 Warlock summons. :)

And my prize! My warbear. ^^ Looks amazing, what it means is more important, I pwned alliance cities and their leaders, and they couldn't do ANYTHING about it.

Thanks for reading...
I'm going to go to bed now.

It came! It came!

Yes, yes, YES!
The new computer came, and it's shiny and pretty and speedy quick. <33
I love it to death, installed WoW as soon as I could (after firefox of course). That alone took about three hours (with patching, etc).
I turned up some of my video settings to try it out, it lagged a bit so I turned them back down.
I downloaded the Druids of Azeroth pretty druid skins for Mirubea. (She looks Badass now :P)

In-Game...here's what happened, in chronological order, of course.

Hopped on Mirubea:
1. gathered up some quests in STV
2. Grouped with a rogue who asked if I was a "real" girl, of course I told the truth, he started flirting. /sigh
3. Hit 31 with Miru. Rogue logged off, questing was too hard solo so I logged as well.

Hopped onto Artebank:
1. Cleared out my mailbox (uugghh so many expired auctions)
2. Threw junk up on the AH for major cheap prices (wanted to get rid of it!)
3. Bought a walk speed enchant for her boots and disenchanted some crafted greenies for quick cash.

Hopped onto Artemes:
1. Finished up my Netherwing Mine dailies, joined LFG for a few instances
2. Finished Netherwing dailies and the new Revered one. (should take about 4 more days till exalted! :D)
3. Got into a group for Gul'Drak.
4. Waiting for healer....
5. Waiting for healer....
6. Kicked from group, wtf? Whispered the group lead, they told me to ask the Pally who said they kicked me to make room for someone else.
7. I wished them luck and started questing in Icecrown
8. The Priest whispers me and asks if I want to run an instance.
9. I say sure, but ask why they weren't running Gul'Drak
10. Invited back into the group with apologies (haha, no biggie. :P)
11. Proceeded to slaughter Gul'Drak
12. Head to UP next, slaughter that as well
13. Added them to friends, nice people, just a misunderstanding of sorts with the group kick.

Conclusion: PuGs are fun. I made new friends today who I'll likely group again. (The priest did great. :D as did our 77 Pally as the MT in UP)

I got some phat loot as well. :P
Cannibal's Legguards
Also a quest reward...but I haven't gotten it yet as I hearthed and didn't thnk about the quest turn ins in the very beginning of the instance. :P
Gilded Ringmail Hauberk and Helmet of Just Retribution

I was hoping for
Trophy Gatherer, but...better luck next time.

I downloaded another game..

To pass the time, It's a brain-teaser/physics game hybrid. A bit difficult, but fun. Quite fun.

It's called World of Goo and it's adorable and funny and obnoxious all at the same time!

My new computer comes tomorrow.
What do I have to look forward to? Likely a whole day (when it comes around 5PM) of installing all those programs I use every day and take for granted.

-World of Warcraft (First since it'll take a LONG time)
- Mozilla Firefox
-Thunderbird (Mozilla e-mail client)
-iTunes
-CCleaner (formerly crapcleaner)
-WoWmatrix
-All my addons /sigh
-Druid skins (ONCE WoW is working properly.)
-Limewire
-Bittorrent

There are likely more, but I can't think of them.
My hand hurts and I'm tired. /yawn
'night,
as always, thanks for reading.

Monday, March 2, 2009

Okay, now I have a timeframe.

I contacted the company that I'm getting my new computer from, they said it should arrive sometime this week, meaning, likely Thursday or Friday.
I'm a little miffed it's taking that long, but I won't complain, it's a computer that won't freeze during instances and raids leaving my group hanging out to dry.
That means I can actually heal for instances with Mirubea (druid) and DPS without focusing mainly on weather or not they are fully aware that I may leave any second due to computer trouble.

Crank Dat Druid Boy! (er...girl?)
Mirubea is feral specced right now, however, after some confusion on my part with Druid healing and specs, I headed over to the Druid Forums and asked a very important question.
Can Druids in lower level instances heal effectively without being specced for it?
Happily, many druids answered by saying, Yes. Druids can heal effectively in low levels (up to Northrend according to one poster!) without being specced for it, as long as they have the gear to do it.
That means I need to get some Healing gear together for dear old Mirubea! Oooh! This is going to be fun! I also need to find out what the best craftable (leatherworking) feral gear is, in case I want to DPS for instances and of course, quest solo.

Healing Wish List:
Guardian Pants
Guardian Belt
Guardian Armor or Green Whelp Armor (I'm really torn here!)
Guardian Cloak or Frost Leather Cloak or Battle Healer's Cloak(Hmm...Spell Power VS Intel + Spirit? OR PvP?)
Guardian Leather Bracers
Gloves of the Greatfather (If possible to get the Elemental Earth cheaply)

Feral Wish List:
Dusky Leather Leggings
Dusky Leather Armor or Thick Murloc Armor (For better survivability)
Dusky Bracers
Dusky Belt
Tiger Hunter Gloves (Eeew, quest reward!)

Some Nice Enchantments to get from Dyrim and those "Free with your Mats" people:
Enchant Boots - Agility (Feral)
Enchant Bracer - Greater Strength (Feral)
Enchant Chest - Superior Mana (Resto)
Enchant Cloak - Subtlety (Resto and Feral)
Enchant Bracer - Healing Power (Resto)

Please note, this list is based on the ease of getting these items, I'm not really looking into instance drops for my feral set AT ALL. Seeing as I'll be healing in instances so it's only proper that I roll for healing gear and NOT on feral gear if there's a rogue/hunter/shammy in the group that needs it more. (-hunter/shammy after level 40)
The healing gear is currently based on what I can get around level 30 by crafting it, so the Guardian set (for the most part) is my best bet for leather. And of course I want leather! More survivability ftw.
Once I hit 200 Leatherworking (What, I did already?) I'll specialize with Tribal Leatherworking seeing as it has lots of nice +Spell Power, +Intellect +Spirit gear, all leather. (Blues too!)

Sooooo. This is actually more for ME, so I can see what I need to buy/look for on the AH and what mats to get.
Just to clarify, total mats to craft each 'set' (More for my use. :P)

Healing Set Mats:
Heavy Leather x 48
Bolt of Silk Cloth x 2
Cured Heavy Hide x 6
Iron Belt Buckle x 1
Shadow Oil x 1
Elemental Earth x 6
Elemental Water x 2

Feral Set Mats:
Heavy Leather x 46
Bolt of Silk Cloth x 2
Iron Belt Buckle x 1
Shadow Oil x 1

(These lists don't include things like thread because they can be vendor bought :P)
Yay! Shopping list made! Now I need to look for some good weapons...hmmm.
Advisor's Gnarled Staff ---> for healing
Loksey's Training Stick ----> Feral (With Enchant 2H Weapon - Agility)

This isn't considered twinking, is it? Naw, I'm not going for the best possible stats EVER. Just things that are easy to get (especially since I need two sets!)
Healing Gear is getting a bit more attention since it has no backup from talents. :)

Thanks for reading my nonsense, I should really focus on Artemes more...but...I don't need to gear her! She's almost level 80! (Then I'll need to gear her. xD)

Farming: Winterspring

Intro:
I've heard a lot about the yetis of Winterspring and how amazing they are to farm.
However; I've found another spot in the same area with a higher droprate for Rugged Leather which is worth five times as much as the Thick Leather the yetis drop.
So here we goooo...another farming adventure! Well...not really.

Farming For (average):
Rugged Leather (x2 per kill) 20g per stack
Thick Leather (x2 per kill) 5g per stack
Blue Dragonscale (x1 per kill) 30g per stack
Worn Dragonscale (x1 per kill) 3g per stack
Various Greenies (Disenchant/Sell)
Mob Wealth: 4s - 20s

Notable Drops:
Pattern: Robe of Winter Night
Recipe: Greater Arcane Protection Potion
Schematic: Arcanite Dragonling
Star Ruby or Aquamarine (From Whelps)
Random World Drops

Suggested Level: 63+

Rating: A-
Lots of mobs that are close together, great for AoE grinding (Hunters, bring your Gorilladin!). All mobs are skinnable, so rugged leather and thick leather drop in abundance, this sells well as it's a major part of the leatherworking leveling guide. Some pretty decent random drops. The Pattern IS Bind on Pickup though! So don't expect to sell it at a profit (unless you're a tailor and can craft it). The Schematic and Recipe are not BoP and usually sell very well to people who don't want to grind low level content for them. There are 2-5 Rich Thorium spawns inside the caves, so keep track minerals up! Very little competition as well, since there's no mini-pet drop here.

What to Pack:
  • Lots of bagspace, no nearby town (Everlook is quite a bit away) or vendor
  • AoE grinding pet preferable to DPS (cat/ravager/etc)
  • Mining Pick (Or gnomish army knife :P)
  • Health pots and bandages in case you bite off more than you can chew (lower levels)
  • Skinning Knife (Duh)
  • Hearthstone

Next Up: Un'Goro Crater

I'm not a patient person

I want to level my druid! I want to do dailies!
/growl
I'm downloading WoW on this laptop...we'll see how it goes.
It's 43% done installing right now. /sigh
Hopefully I'll get some playtime in tonight, also, I'll get to see if it's computer or account oriented (my problems).
OH.
I'll do my Netherwing Dailies, I'm already revered, I should be exalted within the end of the week if I can do all of 'em every day or so.
I'd also like to get the races done, I have two left.
Oracles dailies can likely wait. . . . . .I don't need that helm until 78, and I'm already half way to revered. :) I like oracle dailies.

I'll likely post up my Winterspring map (while waiting for WoW to install) with a little bit of explanation on farming and where to go. I haven't personally checked a few of the areas, but they seem legit and I've heard a lot of good things about them, so up goes my guide.
